“Chubby” is the last thing one would think of Salma Hayek but this is how she describes herself in a new interview with More magazine, in which she also talks about getting the perfect figure and finding happiness.

Never afraid to call a spade a spade, the stunning actress opens up about her early years in Hollywood, body image and self-confidence, Gossip Center reports.

For starters, Salma shuts down talk that beauty and confidence must necessarily equal thin – and she’s the living example that they don’t.

“I'm not a skinny girl,” she says. “I push it. I'm at the limit of chubbiness at all times, but I'm happy at all times.”

While it can easily be argued that Salma is anything but “chubby,” we do feel what she’s saying because she’s trying to encourage real women with curves to embrace their figure without putting too much (unhealthy) pressure on themselves to lose weight.

Also with this purpose in mind, Salma talks about her love of food.

“Everybody has a weakness. Mine is food. If you love food and you love red wine and they put you in France, you're in a good place and you're in a bad place at the same time,” she goes on to say.

“You have to weigh yourself every day, and you have to have an alarm number. When you get to that number, you have to start putting it in reverse,” the actress adds.

In the same interview, Hayek tackles another sensitive topic, that of a woman’s age. It has nothing to do with happiness, she says.

“I feel more relaxed. I don't have to prove something. I don't have that urge of 'Something's missing, gotta get out there and find it somehow.' I was always dreaming big, but my life is better than anything I dreamed,” Salma gushes.
