Actress says flawless complexion is down to good genes and face creams

Salma Hayek doesn’t use Botox to keep wrinkles off her flawless face. In a new interview with Latina magazine, the 45-year-old stunner says she’s actually afraid of needles, and credits her good looks to using plenty of face creams.

The actress, who tells the mag she’d be just as happy if she never worked a single day in her life again because she’s perfectly content with being a wife and a mother, is actually promoting her new skincare line, Nuance.

Since she’s one of the most beautiful women in the world, who apparently gets better with age instead of the other way around, the topic of plastic surgery and Botox came up, as expected.

Salma hasn’t tried either, she says, but she’s not entirely opposed to them either.

“I have no Botox. The thought of a needle coming to my forehead, it really gives me the heebie-jeebies. So I’d rather put on my creams. It’s fun, it smells good, and it’s relaxing,” the actress says.

This is not to say she’s saying “never.” “Am I opposed to doing it later? I don’t know. I want to see how far I can go,” she adds with a smile.

Instead of turning to plastic surgery, Salma prefers to rely on a good face cream in the fight against time. Still, she doesn’t deny she’s blessed with good genes.

“When I was 16, I looked 19. When I was 19, I looked 25. But I got stuck on 25 – thank God! – until I was 35. So that was good,” she explains.

This and the care she took of her skin over time have helped her look this fabulous at 45, an age most women dread.

“But it’s also important to take care of your skin because if you’re not careful, one day you’ll wake up and a spider will have taken over your face and you’ll be full of lines,” the star explains.
