14 DAY TRIAL // Salma Hayek has been replaced as the hottest Latina in Hollywood and she's fuming mad about it. With Sofia Vergara being everywhere these days, Salma believes she's using the “gimmick” of a fake thick accent and her insane body to stay relevant.
While she wouldn't have a problem with Sofia otherwise, Salma is upset that she's stealing all the roles from her, the latest print issue of The Enquirer claims (story via here).
There was a time when Salma was the number one Latina movie studios and beauty brands demanded whenever they had an opening, but she's been replaced by Sofia in recent years.
Salma also thinks that Sofia is tricking people into buying this image of her as a Latina bombshell by faking her accent.
“Salma hates Sofia’s thick, put-on gimmick of a Spanish accent and broken English. She says it’s not only getting old, but it’s demeaning and disrespectful to the Latin community,” an unnamed but admittedly reliable source is quoted as saying.
“Salma would never disrespect Sofia in public, but everyone close to her knows how she really feels,” adds the spy.
To make matters even worse, now, Salma has to see Sofia literally everywhere, which only adds to her frustration.
“Sofia is everywhere! She’s in tons of magazine spots, TV commercials and now films. It’s Sofia overload – and it’s driving Salma crazy,” the insider says.
“Hollywood actresses are competitive enough as it is, but Salma feels absolutely blindsided by Sofia’s popularity. She had no clue that this young upstart would become a huge sensation in the US,” adds the same tipster.
Indeed, the above report is accurate about at least one thing: Sofia Vergara is among the most sought after stars of today.
