Salix Xfce 14.0 RC2 Has Switched to XFS

Salix, a GNU/Linux distribution based on Slackware that is simple, fast, easy to use, and based on XFCE desktop environment, is now at version 14.0 RC2.

The developer of Salix OS 14.0 RC2, The Salix OS Team, has provided two separate images for the 32-bit and 64-bit architecture.

Highlights of Salix OS 14.0 RC2:

• The autoinstall bug in the first release candidate has been fixed;
• The default filesystem is now XFS, but users can also choose between Btrfs, ext2/3/4, ReiserFS, and JFS;
• Sakis3g, a script that makes connecting to the internet with mobile broadband as easy as possible, has been added;
• OpenJRE has been updated to version 7u9.

Download Salix Xfce 14.0 RC2 right now from Softpedia. Remember that this is a development version and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended for testing purposes only.
