Salesforce Plans a Huge New Office in San Francisco
Salesforce Tower is currently being built and it will be massive
Salesforce.com is growing and the company is now planning to move into a new headquarters in San Francisco. The new location expands the workspace by some 700,000 square feet, which allows the company to add 1,000 new employees.Salesforce says that the new tower will make it the largest tech employer in San Francisco. The company’s new tower, which bears the its name, is currently being built above the Transbay Transit Center, ZDNet reports.
Salesforce won’t use the entire building. Instead, it will lease more than half of the 1.4 million square-foot building.
“Salesforce Tower represents an incredible milestone in our company's history — it will be the heart of our global headquarters in San Francisco. We founded salesforce.com in San Francisco 15 years ago and this expansion of our urban campus represents our commitment to growing in the city,” said Marc Benioff, founder and chairman of Salesforce.
The company is quite successful. In the earnings report for the last quarter of 2013, the cloud provider brought in $4.07 billion in revenue. Salesforce has also been working on turning their data center operations entirely towards green energies, along with many other huge tech names such as Google, Apple, and Facebook.
