Like virtually all other makers of laptops, Micro-Star International has remained, of course, no stranger to the tablet market, one of its own models having now started selling in Europe.

Over the past few months, quite a few tablets have been previewed or even made available for sale, especially during the 2011 International Consumer Electronics Show.

Micro-Star International, of course, revealed its own offer, a Windows 7 model that sticks to the so-called standard slate size of 10.1 inches.

The product, which is just one of several ones MSI has or will eventually reveal, is dubbed WindPad 100W and is powered by the Intel Atom Z530 single-core central processing unit.

This chip has a clock speed of 1.6 GHz and, in the case of this slate, is backed up by 2 GB of DDR2 memory.

For storage purposes, a solid state drive with an internal capacity of 32 GB is present, meaning that one will be able to load a decent number of media files and applications.

Granted, the screen of the product is not altogether amazing, having a native resolution of 1,024 x 600 pixel.

Nevertheless, considering the existence of an HDMI output, whatever videos are stored will be possible to stream to auxiliary displays.

It should probably be mentioned that, as demanded by a lack of physical keyboard, the tablet's panel features multi-touch support.

Other specifications include a G-sensor, screen rotation, support for two cameras (one for conference meetings and one for taking photos) and a battery that can keep everything running for over 6 hours.

All of the above are packed inside a frame measuring 274 x 173 x 18.5 mm and weighing 800 grams.

Those interested in MSI'a WindPad 100W need only drop by web pages such as this one and place their order, although they will have to part with the rather steep price of €587.49 (roughly $710).
