Some of you may have heard of Saitek, a designer and manufacturer of consumer electronic products for PC gaming. The latest addition to their new range of gaming and PC peripherals is the Cyborg 5.1 Headset, which probably delivers a great experience since it features Surround Sound! Add that to Saitek's latest controller, the
Cyborg Rumble Pad (the '
FPS Button'-thing) and you've got yourself some serious gaming equipment.
According to Saitek themselves, the Cyborg 5.1 Headset features an integrated 5.1 sound card which provides "true surround sound," via six sonic drivers which deliver precise and directional audio. Imagine you're playing Call of Duty online, cornered up in some dark room where everything looks like a possible attacker.
Right, well, when eye sight doesn't help, better hearing is solicited, so knowing where the enemy is attacking from should prove "somewhat" of an advantage.
The headset also sports "noise-cancelling boom microphone" that allows communication between fellow gamers or team members, not just with FPSs like Call of Duty and Crysis, but with MMOs like Blizzard's popular World of Warcraft. And if you like a maximum-volume-level sound experience don't worry about disturbing nearby people.
The Cyborg 5.1 Headset headset also has these easy-to-reach integrated in-line volume controls, mute control and 5.1 sound select switch. Not everyone is going to like this but, headset cans are enhanced by this Cyborg logo that starts glowing when 5.1 sound is activated. So if you don't mind UFOs stuck to your head, what the heck, get the headset now!
Also, the Cyborg 5.1 Headset is fully adjustable, with low profile rotating cans and an adjustable headband, so you're comfortable with it when long sessions of gaming are in order. It works with MP3 / CD / handheld devices (in stereo) via the 3.5mm jack cable.
