The new game won't run on Windows XP because it requires DirectX 11

Volition and Deep Silver have just revealed the minimum and recommended system specifications for Saints Row 4, confirming that the game runs only on DirectX 11 systems, meaning it can't be played on Windows XP.

Saints Row IV is eagerly awaited by many fans of the franchise, as the previous titles delivered outlandish open world experiences.

Based on the videos and screenshots revealed up until now, the next title is looking to bring even more over-the-top things, as the player will take control of the President of the United States, who's kidnapped by aliens and sent into a virtual world.

Now, the two companies behind it, developer Volition and publisher Deep Silver, have just posted the minimum and recommended system specifications for the game, which can't run on PCs powered by Windows XP due to its mandatory DirectX 11 requirement.

Saints Row 4 is out on August 20 in North America, and August 23 in Europe, for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. More details about the game are going to be revealed this week, at E3 2013.
