Get your hankies ready if you know yourself to be of a more sensitive inclination. A first official trailer for “Safe Heaven” has just been released and it promises to be a real tearjerker.

Based on a novel by Nicholas Sparks (he who wrote “The Notebook” and “Dear John,” both of which have been made into film) and starring perhaps two of the most attractive actors of today, “Safe Haven” is a story of love and trust, but also of acceptance.

By the looks of this first trailer, it might be above generic rom-coms of the kind we’ve seen more than a dime a dozen in recent years, if only for Julianne Hough’s sweetness and Josh Duhamel’s incredible arms and the sense of overprotectiveness they inspire.

“Safe Haven” is directed by Lasse Hallström, and will be out in theaters on February 8. You know, right before Valentine’s Day, in case you forgot all about that.
