Over the weekend, Rihanna was spotted by the paparazzi at LAX, as she was presumably preparing for her birthday. Today, new photos of the singer have emerged, pinpointing her location in Punta Mita, Mexico, where she’s reportedly staying with a bunch of her closest friends and waiting for the Chris Brown scandal to blow over.
While the photos snapped by the paparazzi do not reveal the alleged facial injuries that Rihanna received during the February 8 altercation, they do show the singer looking “extremely sad,” as she’s walking alone on a deserted beach, several media outlets are reporting.
Come to think of it, it is further being said, if only half of what has been written about the incident is true, then she has more than enough reasons to be downcast.
As noted above, last weekend, TMZ paparazzi snapped Rihanna in Los Angeles. Moments after the photos they took hit the Internet, the singer’s management team also issued a statement on her behalf, revealing that she could not comment on the altercation that took place between Chris Brown and her because of the ongoing police investigation. Since then, Rihanna has been nowhere to be seen.
“At the request of the authorities, Rihanna is not commenting about the incident involving Chris Brown. She wants to assure her fans that she remains strong, is doing well, and deeply appreciates the outpouring of support she has received during this difficult time.” Rihanna’s statement read. Also then, several media outlets pointed out that her stand was much more diplomatic and to the point than Chris Brown’s, which sounded as if made in a hurry and without proper consideration.
“Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired. I am seeking the counseling of my pastor, my mother and other loved ones and I am committed, with God’s help, to emerging a better person. Much of what has been speculated or reported on blogs and/or reported in the media is wrong. While I would like to be able to talk about this more, until the legal issues are resolved, this is all I can say except that I have not written any messages or made any posts to Facebook, on blogs, or any place else. Those posts or writing under my name are frauds.” Chris Brown stated almost a week after he allegedly attacked Rihanna, leaving her with multiple contusions, a broken lip and nose, and bite marks.
Chris Brown is now reportedly taking anger management classes in the hope that they will help him in the case that is being built against him. He was arrested on suspicion of making terrorist threats and domestic abuse, and is scheduled for his first court hearing on March 5.
