It's not the best news in the world for British singer Lily Allen, and her "Chemical Brothers" partner Ed Simons. Despite the fact that the two have only been together for three or four months, their relationship seemed solid and they seemed to be heading in the right direction. It may have taken us all by surprise when Lily announced she was pregnant a month ago, especially since she had declared herself against people having children at a young age - but as we very well know, Lily's made a habit of doing precisely those things of which she claimed she disapproved - so everybody was simply happy for her and was looking forward for the baby to come.
Unfortunately, it has just been announced that Lily has suffered a miscarriage, and I really can't imagine anything more awful for a woman than to go through something like that at any time, least of all at an early age. "They are in a state of shock" reports the Sun, "the bad news has been really difficult for them to take and they are absolutely heartbroken. Lily's entire outlook on life changed after she found out she was pregnant. She was looking forward to being a mum and starting a family with Ed. She had turned her back on her party girl image and had turned over a new leaf. They are surrounded by friends and family are offering support. It is a really difficult time for them". I trust Lily will get all the support she needs form her family and friends, and will manage to pull through this terrible situation.
The news was confirmed by Lily's publicist, who stated that "We can confirm that Lily Allen has suffered a miscarriage. She and her partner Ed Simons will be making no further comment and we ask that their privacy be respected during this difficult time". I think this whole situation is bound to be extra hard for Lily, seeing how celebrities left and right are giving birth and showing off their new-borns, but I'm sure Lily will pull through it and manage to move on with her life and carry on with her projects both on the personal and professional front.
