Deep Silver and Ascaron are announcing that they plan to create and release a new add-on for
Sacred 2 – Fallen Angel, set to arrive only for the PC in the second half of 2009.
The role playing game also has a PlayStation 3 and an Xbox 360 version but apparently the new content is not headed for the home gaming consoles from Sony and Microsoft, respectively. Deep Silver has not revealed the price for Ice & Blood but said that the game would be available both as a boxed retail and as a download.
The main selling point for the expansion is the introduction of a new Dragon Mage, a new main character that can tackle the whole game, which focuses on battle magic and can be vulnerable in close up combat. Of course, Ascaron is not content with introducing just one character.
There are also two fresh locations that can be visited in the game, complete with new enemies that will have other tactics set to surprise the player. The other main characters are also set to get different items and the overall world will be richer.
Georg Larch, who is the international marketing director at Koch Media, stated that “We are very pleased that, together with Ascaron, we now get to publish the expansion of the extremely successful 'SACRED 2 - Fallen Angel' for PC as well. We know how fervently the fan community is yearning for new adventures, and we are confident that we will be able to release 'Ice & Blood' within a matter of months.”
Sacred 2 - Fallen Angel has quite a unique fantasy world. There are the usual Elves and Seraphims but you can also choose to play as the Temple Guardian, who is a sort of canine cyborg great at using technology. Ice & Blood will probably add to this aspect of the game experience.
