Sabayon Linux 7 LXDE, E17 and Awesome Released

Fabio Erculiani proudly announced last evening, November 9th, the immediate availability for download of three new Sabayon Linux 7 editions, for the LXDE, Enlightenment 17 and Awesome desktop environments.

Gathered under the "Experimental" umbrella, the new Sabayon Linux 7 LXDE, E17 and Awesome editions are designed for Linux users with low-end computers. They are powered by the newly released Linux kernel 3.1!

Sabayon Linux 7 is the second Linux operating system to make a special edition with the newly released Awesome window manager for console geeks.

Highlights of Sabayon 7 LXDE, E17 and Awesome:

· Linux kernel 3.1;
· EXT4 as the default filesystems;
· Support for encrypted filesystems (LUKS);
· Support for Btrfs filesystems;
· Fast installation process (guaranteed to take less than 5 minutes);

· Much more lightweight because GCC is provided by sys-devel/gcc.
