The Sabayon development team had the pleasure of informing its users about the immediate availability for download of the latest monthly release of their Sabayon Linux operating system derived from the well-known Gentoo distribution.

Powered by Linux kernel 3.19.0, the Sabayon 15.04 Live CD ISO images were actually released on the project’s download servers a couple of days ago, when there was no official release announcement available on the official website of the distribution, which features five different editions.

According to the release notes, the April 2015 update (yes, Easter comes early for Sabayon users) of the rolling-release operating system, brings all the latest updates from the upstream Gentoo Linux software repositories. This means that the latest versions of your favorite open-source projects might be present in this release.

“Sabayon developers have the funny habit of packaging all the latest stuff that is in the Gentoo repositories and make it available as soon as possible to our users. If you are looking for the latest KDE, GNOME or LibreOffice, the chance that ‘it's all in the repos already’ are very high.”

The Xfce 4.12 desktop environment has been included in Sabayon 15.04 Xfce

While the GNOME and KDE editions of Sabayon 15.04 Linux distribution come with the GNOME 3.14.2 and KDE Applications 4.14.3 respectively, as the default desktop environments, the Xfce edition has been updated to the recently released Xfce 4.12 desktop environment.

All Sabayon 15.04 editions come with native Nvidia and AMD video driver support. Download Sabayon 15.04 Xfce, Sabayon 15.04 KDE, Sabayon 15.04 GNOME, Sabayon 15.04 SpinBase, and Sabayon 15.04 Minimal right now from Softpedia. Keep in mind, though, that the operating systems are supported only on modern, 64-bit computers.
