Secure Computing fighting threats

It's all about the newest initiative by Secure Computing. They're trying to make things better on the Net with the help of SWAT. I know that SWAT sounds nice, and some of you might have gotten all excited, but no hacker is going to get shot and no spammer gassed out of his home. This isn't the real SWAT, I mean Special Weapons and Tactics, this is a different SWAT - it stands for Secure Web 2.0 Anti-Threat Initiative. Secure Computing is working with others, researching and studying all types of cases, just to learn more about the evolution of threats on the web so that they can provide companies, enterprises etc with the latest information. This is going to be useful to them, if they want to crackdown on hackers and properly uphold security. Knowledge is power and with this initiative, black-hatters are going to be fought off easier.

"The end user is adopting the Web 2.0 technologies at an increasing rate, and the bad guys are finding new ways to attack," said Ken Rutsky (as seen on eWeek), vice president of product management at Secure Computing. "We're really protected against the last round of threats, not the current threats." Here is one article about threats and their evolution, if you want to get a better grasp of how things work.

Furthermore, here's another argument - the web is changing, anyone that reads net-related news knows that. And so are threats and so are hackers, everyone is adapting. Bad guys will always search for the newest methods of exploiting flaws, they will take advantage of 0-day vulnerabilities and basically wreak havoc whenever they can, that's why the good guys need to be informed on what goes on, so that they can more efficiently solve the eventual problems. I hope that just like the SWAT squads, this SWAT initiative will make a difference!
