SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 SP2 for SAP Applications Released

SUSE has announced the release of SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 Service Pack 2 (SP2) for SAP Applications, a move that is part of an alliance with SAP AG.

According to the developers, with the updated SUSE Linux Enterprise 11 SP2 platform, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP Applications has increased performance of intensive workloads.

“With Service Pack 2, we're helping our joint customers that run SAP solutions on SUSE Linux Enterprise take advantage of technology innovations such as SAP HANA and seamless migration to cloud environments such as Amazon EC2,” said Michael Miller, vice president of global alliances and marketing, SUSE.

The update provides some important new features including Linux kernel 3.0, support for the latest hypervisor technologies, enhancements to the installation wizard, new antivirus tool-kit integration, and NetWeaver technology platform and Sybase solutions from SAP.
