A video has surfaced showing off the animation process for STALKER 2, the much-awaited video game from GSG Game World. However, it is not clear whether the images shown mean that development on the game is still going on or that the team is showing off older results in order to drum up some more interest in the project.

The official Twitter account for the STALKER franchise has linked to the video, which means that it is considered to be an official one, although it has been uploaded by a former member of the development team, who seems to be showing off his skill to potential employers.

The STALKER 2 video shows how the team has created some of the animations linked to the game, but there are no clear details on the structure of the game or on the narrative.

Late in 2011 the owners of GSG Game World announced that the studio was being closed down, which automatically means that no development work is being done on STALKER 2.

The team has since announced that they are still planning to launch the game at some point, although they have not confirmed any clear details about it.

Recently, they announced that they had the resources to push forward and that they would make a number of official announcements about the game during this year.

The first STALKER video game was launched in 2007 and introduced players to the Exclusion Zone around the nuclear plant at Chernobyl.

The game mixes post-apocalyptic and supernatural elements and uses an open world structure to allow gamers to explore the area at will while doing missions for a number of factions.

The series received updates in the form of Clear Sky, a sequel, in 2008, and Call of Pripyat, a prequel, in 2010, but the player base has long been asking for a clear follow-up that delivers mechanics and new areas.
