SSX Trailer Shows Off The Worm and Eddie Wachowski

The developer and publisher working on the upcoming SSX have released yet another trailer for the snowboarding title, showing off one of the more mind-bending moves that players can perform in the game, called The Worm, and the character that uses it, Eddie Wachowski.

The Worm is the kind of trick that needs to be seen to be believed. It really underscores the way the developers at EA are keen on capturing the feeling of snowboarding rather than simply accurately simulating the mechanics of the sport.

Eddie himself is somewhat of an aspirational character, with the development team saying, “Eddie to us embodies the type of snowboard bum I’ve become very familiar with over the years – doesn’t matter where you are in the world at every ski hill there’s a guy living in a van in the parking lot, surviving off sugar packets and 99 cent noodle packs and ripping it up every single day regardless of weather or crowds (and doing it with a smile from ear to ear).”

SSX is at the moment linked to a launch on February 28 in North America and March 2 in Europe, and will be playable on both the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3.
