The new, rebooted SSX offers more content than all the titles in the series taken together, according to one of the leading developers working on it.

Todd Batty, who is the creative director working on SSX, told CVG that, “I think the size and scope of our world and the number of tracks is an order of magnitude bigger. I think our game is bigger than all the other SSX games combined, in terms of levels and tracks you can ride.”

The variety extends to other aspects of the game, like the snowboards, with Batty adding, “We looked at the procedurally generated weapons and we thought, we could do that with snowboards.”

The developer also talked about the games that inspired various elements of SSX, mentioning Need for Speed and Burnout but also Plants vs. Zombies and the MMO World of Warcraft, which inspired tactical equipment and the idea of tiered items.
