14 DAY TRIAL // SQL Server 2008 R2 Update for Developers Training Kit – January 2011 Update is now available for download from Microsoft. The Redmond company has been constantly refreshing the training kit it’s offering devs with an interest in building on top of SQL Server 2008 R2, and the latest release is now live on the Microsoft Download Center.
Of course, with each new update of the SQL Server 2008 R2 Training Kit for Developers, the software giant has introduced new resources, which it continues to offer free of charge.
The latest refresh is an illustrative example in this regard, containing both new content as well as overall usability enhancements, according to Roger Doherty, SQL Server Technical Evangelist, Microsoft Developer and Platform Evangelism.
“This is a great resource for developers, trainers, consultants and evangelists who need to understand the key improvements introduced in SQL Server 2008 R2 from a developer perspective,” Doherty stated.
“It contains a rich set of presentations, demos, hands-on labs and videos that are perfect for self-paced learning or for conducting your own training.
“The January 2011 update includes lots of great new content and several usability improvements.”
The latest update to the SQL Server 2008 R2 Training Kit for Developers is focused on providing them with the necessary resources to streamline the development of business intelligence solutions.
In fact, devs will be able to use the kit for help when building their first BI solution with SQL Server 2008 R2, the software giant explains.
“This content is a complete training course that contains eleven units covering all the key aspects of Microsoft BI solution development. You can find it by navigating to the Getting Started > BI Developers page,” Doherty revealed.
“Here is a summary of what’s included: 31 presentations (PowerPoint slides, videos and transcripts included); 27 demos (installer scripts, videos and transcripts included); 12 hands on labs (installer scripts included).”
However, the content that already shipped with the kit has also been refreshed, in concert to a boost to usability.
“This update features several usability improvements that we hope will make it easier to navigate and use the training kit,” Doherty said.
