The upcoming installment in the new James Bond franchise, “SPECTRE,” spent more time than anticipated in production limbo, but hopefully, it will have been worth the wait. The film will be out in theaters in November, with Sony and MGM releasing a first teaser for it the other day.

As usual, you will find it embedded below.

“SPECTRE” comes 3 years after “Skyfall,” the previous installment, considered by critics and fans the best one in the series with Daniel Craig as lead. In other words, the 2012 release raised the stakes very high, and there’s a lot of buzz online that “SPECTRE” might not be able to rise to the expectations.

The first teaser trailer sets the tone and offers a glimpse at the plot: a secret from James Bond’s past comes back to haunt him, and while on a quest to see that it remains buried, he stumbles across the sinister organization SPECTRE.

Perhaps the most revealing element included in the video is the name Oberhauser on the piece of paper that Bond is holding at one point: Oberhauser is named temporary guardian of James Bond. Knowing that Christoph Waltz stars as Franz Oberhauser, the villain, and assuming that the man named guardian was his father, that pretty much means we’ll get a story of brothers.

Bond and Oberhauser might not be related by blood, but some ties can be very strong without that.

“SPECTRE” also stars Monica Bellucci, Lea Seydoux, Dave Bautista, and returning cast members Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris and Ben Whishaw. Sam Mendes returns as director.
