With 5-day weather forecast and a 3D globe

Leading developer of mobile applications SPB Software announced on Tuesday the release of a new software solution for users of handsets powered by the Symbian operating system, SPB Weather 2.0. the application was until now available only for handsets based on Microsoft's Windows Mobile platform, yet now a wider range of users can enjoy its capabilities, the company announced.

According to SPB Software, it is currently working on expanding its applications offering for the users of Symbian devices, and SPB Weather is the latest addition to the lineup. It comes as a powerful weather forecast program, capable of delivering detailed everyday forecasts for a number of over 10,000 cities all around the world, while also offering up-to-date satellite images on a 3D Globe.

The features list of SPB Weather 2.0 for Symbian includes: - 5-day weather forecast - Detailed morning/day/evening/night forecast - Pressure, humidity and wind forecast - Database for 10,000+ cities worldwide - Up to 10 favorite cities - Beautiful finger-friendly interface - Weather forecasts on a 3D globe, with zooming and satellite image of the sky (including clouds) - Weather animation videos – just like on TV - Home screen widget

The new app is built on the huge success the company's Windows Mobile version of SPB Weather enjoys. “SPB Weather 2.0 has been mainly designed with the latest touchscreen-enabled S60 smartphones in mind as those are rapidly gaining customer attention. However, it is compatible with any non-touchscreen Symbian smartphone based on S60 3rd edition FP1 and later. To support the touchscreen trend, SPB Weather for Symbian offers users a striking finger-friendly interface, as well as a home screen widgets for Nokia Symbian-based smartphones,” SPB Software notes.

The new SPB Weather 2.0 for Symbian has been designed to work with handsets running under Symbian S60 3rd edition Feature Pack 1 and higher, S60 5th edition included, the company notes. The application is also available for all Symbian-based touchscreen handsets, and it comes with the price tag of 14.95 USD.
