SPB Software, one of the most prolific mobile software developers, has recently announced the availability of the SPB Migration Tool application, which allows users to transfer all their personal data from old Windows Mobile or Symbian phones to a new Android smartphone.

The application offers a complete solution, enabling users to copy their call history, text messages, contacts and bookmarks to a new Android smartphone. For the non-tech savvy SPB Migration Tool is the perfect solution, as the application features an easy-to-use and convenient interface. Furthermore, the migration of all the data can be made in several simple steps and it doesn't require a desktop computer.

“SPB Survey 2010 showed the tendency of migrating from all other platforms to Android and SPB is happy to support its customers with the right solution for it. It is much easier to get used to the new smartphone when all the favorite contacts, important text messages, recent call logs and bookmarks are kept on it,” said SPB Software CEO, Sebastian-Justus Schmidt.

“So we did our best to create the tool that facilitates the migration to the new device by making it really smooth and convenient. With SPB Migration Tool it won't take any effort to move to the new phone,” added Schmidt.

Users can choose to transfer their personal data in one of two ways. One requires the use of a microSD card, while the other requires a mobile Internet connection on both devices.

The transfer between the phones can be done easily by inserting the microSD card into the old device and copying all the information there. In case a microSD card is not available, the online migration mode can be used instead.

SPB Migration Tool can be used to transfer data from Symbian S60 3rd edition and up, Windows Mobile 5 and later.

Information can be transferred on Android 2.1 platforms and up. The application is available for download from Android Market for $9.95 USD.
