14 DAY TRIAL // On Tuesday, leading mobile software developer SPB Software announced the release of a new application for Symbian-based devices, namely SPB Mobile Shell 3.5 for Symbian. The solution is one of the bestselling customization and personalization tools for touchscreen-based mobile phones, and can offer Symbian users the possibility to get more from their handsets. According to the company, it has released the software so as to offer the increasing number of Symbian users the possibility to enjoy an enhanced personalization solution.
“Up until now there hasn’t been a good user interface for Symbian yet despite the number of users out there,” said Sebastian-Justus Schmidt, CEO of SPB Software. “Our aim is to bring our experience with Windows Mobile users to Symbian (and other OS) enthusiasts. Last year we launched six projects for the Symbian platform and partnered with Nokia, StarHub and MTS, customising and helping implement the products for Symbian OS. The simple implementation process means manufacturers and mobile operators can easily customise the products on a variety of platforms to offer the same capabilities to all users.”

SPB Mobile Shell 3.5 is already available for download and purchase for touchscreen phones running under Symbian S60 5th Edition and higher. The software solution features a price tag of $29.95, but users can also download a 15-day free trial version to give the application a try. SPB Mobile Shell was introduced on the market back in 2007 and has already enjoyed great success ever since on other mobile operating systems, being shipped on the market on handsets from over 15 mobile phone makers. In the meantime, SPB Software joined the Symbian Foundation to be able to bring its solutions to owners of handsets running under the Symbian OS.
