SPB Software announced that SPB Brain Evolution, one of the developer's most acclaimed game titles, is now available for the Maemo platform. The release is meant to bring entertainment and brain exercises to a larger mobile users base.

As the name implies, SPB Brain Evolution is a game that challenges the brain. It includes a suite of 12 mini-games which help improve mind-related skills. Two play modes allow users to evaluate their current skill level or to improve them by playing the games in sequence, with increasing levels of difficulty.

The application includes some well known classics such as Sudoku, Minesweeper and Pairs. Besides these, other 9 games, namely: Quadronica, Matches, Balltracker, Guess Who, Geometry, Numbers, Memorics, Encyсlopedia and Arithmetics,  will help users exercise logic, orientation,  calculation and pattern recognition skills, as well as improve memory.

The game keeps track of players' progress and offers full statistics, as well as interesting facts after each completed training. The social component is also present, allowing users to share their highscores online via the SPB server or Twitter. Multiple profiles ensure that the game can be enjoyed by several players on the same device.

SPB Brain Evolution is the first SPB Software title released for the Maemo platform. Sebastian-Justus Schmidt, CEO of SPB Software, explained the company's decision to port the game to Nokia's operating system: "We've seen how popular Brain Evolution is on other platforms and wanted to make it available on the promising Maemo platform. It exercises the brain, giving the user entertainment and something to do while on the go or as a time-killer."

SPB Brain Evolution is compatible with mobile phones running Maemo 5 (Fremantle) and having a screen resolution of  480x800, such as the Nokia N900. It  can be downloaded from the Ovi Store for free. The game is also available for Windows Mobile, Symbian and iPhone users.
