Spam is highly problematic these days. Many users receive tens of such emails each day, especially if their email address is old and has been used to sign up to a large number of services.

However, the number of spam emails we get every day would be much larger if it weren’t for anti-spam filters such as the one of SPAMfighter.

If you ever wondered how many spam messages are blocked by such spam filters, SPAMfighter provides some interesting statistics.

So far, the company’s anti-spam filter, which has been operational for the last 7 years, has blocked 70 billion spam emails.

That means 10 billion emails have been blocked each year, 27,472,527 have blocked each day, and 318 unsolicited messages have been blocked each second.

If each email is around 10 KB in size, the 70 billion emails would add up to 652 TB or 667.572 GB.
