The development team at Frictional Games is launching a new video for its upcoming SOMA video game which show off one of the game's environments, using the core game engine, and more details about the design philosophy powering the title.

The company says that it is creating an experience that aims to connect players with a new world and make them care about the unique themes it is exploring.

The core five design pillars for SOMA are: everything is story, take the world seriously, the player is in charge, trust the player, thematics emerge through play.

The entire plot of the game is not currently clear and the studio has been scarce with details about gameplay but it seems to involve a version of the future where androids are capable of assuming human emotions.
