There are headsets that use their high-end hardware as main selling point, and then there are headphones that rely on brand strength and association to other famous things. This is a case of the latter.

SOL Republic has officially introduced the Sol Republic x Steve Aoki Tracks HD headphones, produced in collaboration with the globally renowned Electronic Dance Music (EDM) artist, DJ, record producer and founder of Dim Mak Records. Obviously, the man's name is Steve Aoki.

The headphone set is already selling for a price of $149.99, or 116-149.99 Euro, in various countries.

Leading-edge V10 Sound Engines are employed, for deep, balanced bass, and crisp, high-clarity vocals.

The one feature that got special mention is the headband though, of all things. Apparently, it can be removed, so that any one of the five Remix headbands and cables may be fitted (five different colors).

"Steve as a producer makes the kind of music that blows your mind, as a performer he is out of his mind, and his fans love him for it. He was our first Savior of Sound and we're thrilled to make a headphone that looks as crazy as Steve truly is," said Kevin Lee, SOL REPUBLIC co-founder and CEO.

The new product has Premium V10 HD Sound Engines with SonicSoft Speaker Pads, interchangeable cable with mic + music control, interchangeable and virtually indestructible headband, and a slim-fit carrying case. Go here to read more or make an order.

"SOL REPUBLIC Aokified the signature Tracks HD headphones that I wear on stage at every show," said Steve Aoki himself.

"I've been a fan of SOL REPUBLIC since even before they launched and I'm pretty excited about the energy and love they put into this product because it's exactly what I'd want a headphone that I wear during my shows to look and sound like."
