The development team at Sony Online Entertainment is getting ready to actually allow players to engage with the PlayStation 4 version of Planetside 2 and the company says that the next-gen console will be able to run the entire MMO at a resolution of 1080p with a smooth framerate.

Gamepur quotes the information and adds that during E3 2014, the plan is to actually allow gamers to get hands-on experience with the title and its unique mechanics.

The graphics quality on the PlayStation 4 will be as it currently is on the PC using the Ultra level of settings.

It will be interesting to see whether SOE can make this promise a reality, given that the most powerful gaming computers have much better hardware than the Sony platform at the moment.

Planetside 2 will be launched on the PS4 before the end of the year and the company has said that all mechanics and features will be unchanged, although they are not aiming to deliver any sort of cross-platform play capability.

The MMO is based on shooter mechanics and gamers need to work together as a unit in order to win battles.

SOE says that all its future MMO projects will also have PS4 ports.
