Sony Online Entertainment has announced the voice cast of its upcoming massively multiplayer online role playing game, DC Universe Online. There are some very good news for the fans of DC Comics, as Kevin Conroy will be reprising his role as the Batman, while Mark Hamill will come back as the infamous Joker.

“We’re excited that not only will Mark and Kevin bring their talent back to the DC Universe as part of DC Universe Online, but we’ve hit the jackpot with a full cast that are veterans of movies, TV shows and games that our fans are crazy about,” said Sony Online Entertainment vice president of development, John Blakely. “Several of these actors are recognized as the definitive voices for these characters, and will help us in creating an authentic and exciting experience for fans when they get in the game.”

Mark Hamill has declared in the past that he was very careful with his appearances as the Joker, a character he cared for very much. He also said that Batman: Arkham Asylum 2 would be his last rendition of the role. It is good to see that he will be voicing Batman's antagonist in this DC Universe Online as well and this may be seen as good news regarding the title's quality.

It may be worth remembering that Kevin Conroy is that actor that voiced Batman in the critically acclaimed Batman: The Animated Series and Justice League. Science-fiction fans should be glad to hear the Superman will be acted by Adam Baldwin, a well-known performer, who has collaborated in the past with Stanley Kubrick in Full Metal Jacket, but also had a significant part in Joss Whedon's Firefly series and Serenity movie.

Gina Torres, Zoe Washburn from the Firefly series, will be voicing Wonder Woman. Lex Luthor's words will be read by James Marsters, of Buffy the Vampire Slayer fame. Michelle Forbes, from the Star Trek and Battlestar: Galactica series, will give life to Circe, Wonder Woman's main antagonist. DC Universe Online will be released on the 2nd of November this year for both PC and PlayStation 3.
