ATI Technologies took Computex 2005 by storm, launching the Radeon Xpress 200 CrossFire solution, to be manufactured starting from July, as stated by company officials. Versions for both Intel and AMD will be available, and the chipset will be initially engraved using a 130 nanometers technology within Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, later on being scheduled to pass to a 110 nanometers technology. The platform has been designed in order to offer gamers the best performances and a greater level of flexibility and compatibility than any other multi-processor graphics solution. It combines the power of a Radeon Xpress chipset for Intel and AMD processors with a standard Radeon processor and a Radeon CrossFire video adapter, thus offering superior processing performances and a far higher quality of the images, regardless of the video application.

When the gamers will install CrossFire Edition, which includes the CrossFire engine, on their system already equipped with a Radeon Express solution, the graphic rendering potential will practically be doubled, announces ATI. The card can be set up in several ways, thus doubling the processing capacity compared to the single graphic chip solution, but one can also chose to use the resources for improving strictly the quality of images within games, which will look better that ever before.

One of the advantages of the CrossFire platform is its great level of compatibility with a variety of game titles. The implementation of several graphics processors allows CrossFire to be compatible to absolutely any game, regardless of generation, without having to set up special profiles for each title or update the drivers.
