SK Hynix wants to get the same deal as Samsung. That is to say, it wants to create its own memory-based products instead of making just component chips.
To that end, the company has formally launched a solid-state drive called SH910. It measures 7mm in thickness (0.27 inches), but otherwise bears the same 2.5-inch form factor as most every other SSDs.
That said, the newcomer has a capacity of either 128 GB or 256 GB. In both cases, data is read at up to 520 MB/s and written at a maximum of 500 MB/s.
Furthermore, the random seek performance is of 60,000 IOPS and the random write of 35,000 IOPS.
The rest of the spec sheet is fairly unsurprising: 128-bit AES encryption (LSI's is still working on that issue with the SandForce controllers, in this case SF2281), TRIM, NCQ and SMART support.
