Hollywood actresses definitely know a thing or two about constantly being in the spotlight - and we could fill volumes with all that has been written on their eating habits, desperate dieting and health troubles stemming from faulty, "make me thin" diets. However, it's still mildly annoying for...well, pretty much the rest of the world to hear rail-thin actresses the likes of Keira Knightley and Sarah Jessica Parker jump on the "I eat everything, whenever I want and don't work out" bandwagon. It may be that Hollywood has turned out to host the largest number ever of genetically flawless women (metaphorically, of course) - or it may be that it's all a bit of a joke. Sarah Jessica Parker, however, firmly believes her size 2 figure is a lucky accident. Lucky, indeed.
Parker attended a special screening of her new film "Smart People" (co-hosted by Linda Wells of Allure magazine and The Cinema Society) and when asked about her dieting habits, responded by firmly claiming she's not picky when it comes to her meals. "I eat everything. I'm just an eater. If it's free, I honestly eat everything," she stated. And as proof, she went into a long rant about the meals she'd had two days prior to the event. "Last night I had steak and some lamb shank. And I had some roasted chicken and some cassoulet and some profiteroles and some ice cream and some cheesecake". And then on the previous day "two different tarts [...] and toast and a banana and a cup of coffee and a bagel with cream cheese". Now that's quite a mouthful earful.
However, if Parker - and other ultra-skinny actresses like her who claim to impose no food bans whatsoever - are lying or exaggerating about their willingness to eat, it's most probably because they have recently come under heavy fire for encouraging young girls to starve themselves. Which means that everything they say has to be taken with a grain of salt, so to say. In any case, if you're a role model for young people, it's best to pretend you're eating and staying naturally thin than start offering diet tips.
