Starting with the next month, mobile phone users in Europe will be able to purchase the newly unveiled Sony Xperia Z1 smartphone, and retailers on the old continent have already kicked off pre-orders for the device.

Users in Germany interested in the purchase of this smartphone can now reserve it through Amazon.de, where it is listed with a price tag of €499 next to it.

Earlier, we saw the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact (D5503) listed at retailers in the UK on various contract deals, but it appears that users in this country will also be able to snag it SIM-free.

Amazon has added it to its website in the UK as well, though it lists it at £595.67 at the moment, something that will change soon, as XperiaBlog notes.

The phone will be available in all four color versions (Black, Lime, Pink, and White) via the carrier, but it is also listed at Clove and Unlocked-Mobiles as up for pre-order in Black and White, priced at £430. If you’re not keen on getting it in another color, you might want to check their offerings.

Phones4u and Carphone Warehouse will launch the handset in the UK as well, though only the former has unveiled pricing info on it, and only for those willing to sign up for a contract agreement.

Xperia Z1 Compact will arrive in other markets around Europe as well, including Italy and the Netherlands, where it will feature an official price tag of €549, it seems.

However, as XperiaBlog notes, chances are that the smartphone will be cheaper when made available for purchase next month, as it usually happens with such devices.

The phone sports a 4.3-inch HD screen, a 2.2GHz quad-core CPU, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory, and a 20.7-megapixel camera on the back. It runs under Android 4.3 Jelly Bean right from the start.
