On Tuesday, leading push-enabled mobile email and messaging solutions provider SEVEN announced the signing of a global agreement with Samsung Electronics, through which it will power the handset vendor's social networking and integrated messaging application for mobile phones, the Samsung Social Hub. According to the company, its push platform will enable Samsung to offer its users access to all communications, including voice, email, instant messaging, social networking, contacts and more, all in a single interface.

“We are pleased to be working with Samsung on its new Social Hub application,” said Ross Bott, CEO and president of SEVEN. “We believe that a key growth driver in mobile communications is in integrated messaging and social networking solutions – a streamlined user interface that connects a subscriber’s friends contact information and social networks all under one umbrella. Think mobile, office and home numbers, work and professional emails, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and other networks all right at your fingertips. The one-click integrated social network coupled with the power of push-enabled services will drive growth in operators’ subscriber bases.”

Mobile phones are increasingly becoming the main tool on which users rely every day, which means that one of the most important features they come with is their capability to offer fast and easy access to contacts and communications applications, all in a simple fashion. Samsung should be capable to streamline this functionality for its users by integrating the SEVEN platform with its software solution, the company noted. Moreover, Samsung will deliver fully loaded devices to carriers, meaning that they won't have to spend additional funds to integrate more communication features in their devices.

“One of the key hurdles for operators to stay ahead of the competition is in ensuring that the services and applications they provide their subscribers are fresh and available on sophisticated, user-friendly devices,” said Kang M. Lee, SVP of Samsung Electronics’ Media Solution Center. “Samsung Social Hub not only gives operators a faster-time-to-market edge over the competition, but it allows end-users to activate their communities on their hands. Couple these key benefits with a sticky integrated application and operators shall obtain a new avenue to drive overall user adoption and customer loyalty.”

Samsung Wave, the first mobile phone to land on the market with the handset vendor's bada operating system, is also the first one to include SEVEN. According to the two companies, other handsets from Samsung, running on various operating systems, will include the solution as well.
