Raspberry Pi is not willing to help out the spammers

Raspberry Pi has revealed on Twitter that Google has penalized a SEO company that hid links in the Raspberry Pi forums.

Apparently, the SEO firm emailed Raspberry Pi, asking for the links to be removed. However, the spammers didn’t ask nicely. Instead, they threatened to report Raspberry Pi to Google for spamming.

“Obviously, we told them to go and stick their spam up their behinds: we’re not helping them out,” came Raspberry Pi’s response.

“If nothing else, it is nice to have all your prejudices about the people who pay spammers confirmed so elegantly,” they added.

The spammers have not been named. Apparently, they can’t remove the links themselves because the username that posted them has been banned.

Many SEO companies are trying to remove backlinks to their customers’ websites. Some time ago, backlinks helped sites show up in search results, but after Google made some changes, they started having the opposite effect.
