Well-known games developer SEGA recently announced it would pull some of its older games from Google Play Store and App Store. According to the company, these games no longer meet SEGA's standards, which is why they will be removed from download.

“It is important for us to ensure that all of our fans, regardless of platform or operating system, have a great playing experience and after evaluating our complete list of titles, we have determined that a number of them no longer meet our standards,” said SEGA in a blog post.

SEGA will also remove these games from Amazon App Store and Samsung App Store over the next few weeks. The bad news is that the developer did not confirm which titles would be pulled from these stores nor when exactly.

On the positive side, SEGA clearly stated that those who purchased the games will still be able to download them even after they are removed from the stores.

Those who purchased the games will still be able to download them

Even if you decide to delete the game or you simply switch to another smartphone, these games will remain in the purchased apps tab for as long as they are compatible with the device you are using.

“If you have already purchased a game that is being removed from the store you will be able to continue to play it after it’s been taken down. It will remain in your purchased apps where you will be able to download it again if you delete it or acquire a new device until the game becomes incompatible with the latest phone operating systems or hardware.”

There's a chance that these games that will be pulled by SEGA in the next few weeks, to return to Google Play and App Store in the future but in an updated form.

However, SEGA claims that they don't have anything to announce at this time, so we can only hope that the company will have the time and resources to update these games and release them once again.
