Video game publisher SEGA has announced the launch dates for a number of titles that will arrive on the Nintendo 3DS platform in the coming months, with classic characters like Sonic and Mario at the center of the line-up.
Shinobi is a reboot which updates the classic side scrolling action formula with a whole new battle system, achievements and challenges and support for the new StreetPass concept, with players able to pick in up on November 11 in Europe and four days later in North America in order to slay some enemies with their ninja skills.
Sonic the Hedgehog is also set to cross to the Nintendo 3DS this year, on November 22 in North America and on the 25th in Europe, with the Generations anniversary edition allowing players to play as both Classic and Modern versions of the character, with a number of level created exclusively to take advantage of the unique capabilities of the handheld.
Crush 3D is a puzzle game which also has platforming elements which combines 3D and 2D worlds and will help players get a brain workout on January 10, 2012 in North America and three days later in Europe.
Maybe the biggest game of the announced schedule is Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games, which is slated for launch on February 10 in Europe and on the 14th in North America.
The game will allow players to take part in more than 50 official events with the gold medal up for grabs and adds an extra dimension to the challenge by using the unique glass free 3D technology of the Nintendo handheld.
Sonic & Mario is one of the biggest video game series for SEGA and it will be interesting to see whether it can lead the Nintendo 3DS, which has been ailing lately, to bigger sales.
