Armed with "SCNY lens"

If you ever wanted a 5 Megapixel mobile phone named SCNY, now you might have the chance to own one, as some Chinese producer thought of manufacturing a bunch of handsets under this name.

Well, SCNY obviously brings to mind the SONY brand and since this new device is a phone that offers a 5 Megapixel camera, like some of Sony Ericsson's handsets, it's clear that we're talking about a product that wants to steal from the success and fame the real SONY has. Anyway, we've seen HKC handsets (that bring HTC in mind), so why not a SCNY one?

The SCNY phone doesn't look bad and it proudly packs a 5.1 Megapixel camera with auto focus, xenon flash, face detection, optical (not digital) zoom and "SCNY lens". The lenses' name aside, this sort of camera should allow you to take photos at a fairly high quality, comparable to the ones taken with Sony Ericsson's Cybershot flagship handsets. We can't possibly say that this is true, but it could be, that's for sure.

Besides the features related to the (apparently high-end) photo camera, other specs packed in the new handset are unveiled. But we do know that the SCNY has a 6800 mAh battery that should provide, in the tradition of other China-made batteries, quite long talk and stand-by times. Moreover, the phone has a wide display that is probably touchscreen enabled, so we could say it's a pretty advanced device.

Both pricing and availability of the SCNY phone are unknown but the device is surely to be found somewhere in China. Those who live there (or nearby) should really try to find this original piece of technology. If not to buy it, at least to test it. Sure, China is far from being considered a small country, but a 5 Megapixel phone named SCNY is truly worthy of consideration, don't you think?
