Sony Computer Entertainment Europe is reporting that although Folklore features over 100 Folk(s), each with their own unique personalities and individual style of combat, they now want gamers to provide one more. In order to do that, gamers must sign up to this online competition where the winner will see their design become an in-game character for the
PS3 exclusive thriller.
That's right - we're looking for one more
Folk to inhabit the Netherworld, and we're running an online competition to find the budding artist who can design the character. If you can conceive of a supernatural creature worthy of sitting alongside the gelatinous Agar Agar, the spike-furred Bugaboo, the boulder-bodied Spriggan or the cavern-mouthed Fomoire, we want you to send us your design, says SCEE.
The official report confirms that full entry details are available at
this particular website, while the winning design will be turned into a real, in-game Folk by developers Game Republic. More than that, if your design does prove to be the best, it will become a downloadable item via
PlayStation Store.
Folklore is a unique, dark fantasy adventure inspired by western fairy tales. Set in the mysterious town of Doolin, two strangers, Keats and Ellen, are drawn together to uncover a mysterious legend in a remote village that exists on the border between dreams and reality. They soon learn that the town serves as a gateway to fantastic realms, full of creatures, spirits and monsters. In order to solve the mystery of the town, and their past, the pair must journey through these worlds to uncover its secrets.
Entries for the competition running from September 28th to October 22nd will be judged by a panel from Japan's Game Republic studios that will include Yoshiki Okamoto, a.k.a. Okamoto-San - the Executive Producer of Resident Evil, Devil May Cry and Genji.
You can participate in this online competition even if you haven't played the game yet. All you have to do is head over to PlayStation Network, log on to PlayStation Store and download the Folklore demo to see what the game is all about. Only then will you be able to know what character design would fit best within the supernatural game.
