In a move to counter all the publicity LG’s Google TVs are getting, Samsung has just announced the company’s partnership with voice recognition master Nuance, on its official website.

Samsung’s dual-core powered Smart TV’s will get voice recognition and command abilities next to the facial and gesture recognition they already had.

The Samsung Smart TV owner will be able to say: Hello TV ! Turn on and mute!

We don’t exactly see where the particular usefulness of such technology is, considering the fact that the TV is actually able to see and interpret your face and gestures using the integrated webcamera.

"The power and simplicity of voice integration as part of a TV interface is clear the moment you sit back and speak to your TV. Working together, Nuance and Samsung are demonstrating how voice truly transforms the digital living room experience," said Michael Thompson, senior vice president and general manager, Nuance Mobile.
