Her gig as presenter was one of the gala's worst moments

The Screen Actors Guild Awards 2015 took place last night at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, with the celebrity turnout worthy of an event of this scale, honoring achievements in the previous year in both film and television.

Julia Roberts was one of the nominees and presenters, and she looked flawless in a Givenchy onesie and her “Pretty Woman” trademark red hair. However, during the gala, she had what has been dubbed her very own, little Kanye West moment.

Unfortunately, I can’t seem to find a video of it, so we’ll just have to take ET’s word on it. It’s not the only media outlet to include it on the list of the most awkward moments of the night.

So, Julia went up on stage to present Best Actor in a Movie (Eddie Redmayne won) but instead of sticking to her lines, she deviated from the script and started praising Mark Ruffalo for his win earlier in the evening.

Mark wasn’t there to accept the award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Movie or Miniseries (for “The Normal Heart), because he was at home, sick in bed. Ironically, Mark is Julia Robert’s co-star in the critically acclaimed production, and voices online are saying that she basically hijacked the moment to make it all about herself.

ET says this was just a more “polite” form of Kanye’s attention-grabbing stunt, when he took to the stage at the Video Music Awards some years ago, to snatch Taylor Swift’s trophy from her hand and proclaim that Beyonce had the best video of all time. Or, as it is known, the “Imma let you finish” Kanye speech.
