The Screen Actors Guild has announced the nominations for the SAG Awards 2014. If there ever was a time to brace yourself for the awards season, which has officially been kicked off, it is now.

With the SAG Awards and, later on, the Golden Globes, fans at home have the first strong indicators of which movies and actors might get to go home with an Academy Award at the Oscars 2014, which will take place in February and close the aforementioned awards season.

But, until that happens, let’s focus more on the present moment: in film, we have few surprises. “12 Years a Slave,” as announced by critics shortly after release, is leader of the pack with 4 nods, and has poised itself as the strongest Oscar contender.

“Lee Daniels’ The Butler,” “Dallas Buyers Club” and “August: Osange County” come hot on its heels, each with 3 nominations. Jared Leto, who was saying just hours ago that he’d never imagined he’d hear his name in the same sentence as “Oscar buzz,” gets now to see that happening, as he is nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his role in “Dallas Buyers Club.”

As was to be expected, Matthew McConaughey also received a nod for the same film, in the Best Actor category, going up against Tom Hanks, Forest Whitaker, Bruce Dern, and Chiwetel Ejiofor.

In television, “Breaking Bad,” which ended this year, leads with 4 nominations, including for Best Actor in a Drama Series, Best Actress in a Drama Series, Best Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series, and Best Performance by a Stunt Ensemble.

“Game of Thrones,” “Boardwalk Empire,” “Killing Kennedy,” “Behind the Candelabra,” and “Phil Spector” also were nominated.

Below is the complete list of nominations. Check it out to see if your favorite actor, movie or TV show made the cut and, if they did, check back here for the winners. The SAG Awards 2014 will air live on January 18, 2014 on TNT and TBS.
