“We are the luckiest people in the world,” “Breaking Bad” star gushes on stage

Bryan Cranston beat some stiff competition for the title of Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series, aka Best Actor on TV, at the Screen Actors Guild Awards 2014 and, as his acceptance speech proves, he was very humble about the whole thing.

The actor, who starred as Walter White on the hit (but now-defunct) series “Breaking Bad,” first sung a little song when he got on stage, but turned serious immediately when he recalled meeting Emma Thompson at a recent reception.

For a guy who once worked very hard as a truck loader, Cranston knows that he is one of the lucky few who actually get to see their dream come true. “We are the luckiest people in the world,” he gushed, thanking the industry for giving him a break and his lucky stars for making it as an actor.

At the same event, “Breaking Bad” also won Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series, beating rivals “Game of Thrones,” “Homeland,” “Boardwalk Empire,” and “Downton Abbey.”

By the way, that little thing Bryan is holding at the beginning of the video is Anna Gunn’s “Breaking Bad”-inspired clutch. He’s checking himself in the mirror – you gotta love the guy!
