Jennifer Lawrence has just skipped ahead of the competition in the Oscars race by taking home the award for Best Female Actor in a Leading Role at last night’s SAG Awards 2013.

Above is a video of her acceptance speech.

A visibly emotional Jennifer walked up to the stage and recalled how she’d gotten her first SAG card thanks to a series of promos she did for MTV’s “My Super Sweet Sixteen” when she was just 14 years old.

If you don’t know the ads, they are embedded below.

So she thanked MTV for offering her this chance, and then she thanked her fellow actors for voting for her after seeing her latest film, “Silver Linings Playbook.”

By the looks on the faces of her direct rivals, Marion Cotillard, Jessica Chastain and Naomi Watts, everybody was happy with Jennifer’s win – and touched by her beautiful speech. She kept it simple and to the point, and it’s hard not to love her for it.
