Still unannounced

The first Samsung mobile phone that will run under the Google Android operating system is reported to be the S8000, an unannounced handset that has been spotted in the wild a while ago. Given the platform it features, one could easily guess that the handset should sport a high-resolution display, while also packing a full connectivity suite and the new Samsung 3D interface.

The Samsung S8000 should come to the market as one of the full-touch mobile phones that the Korean maker is expected to unveil during the ongoing year. Among the rather attractive features that the device will bring along we can count a 5-megapixel photo snapper, which also sports dual LED flash.

Other specs of the Samsung Android handset also include a 3.1-inch AMOLED touch display able to provide a WVGA resolution and support for 16 million colors, FM radio with RDS, a 3.5mm audio jack and 2GB of internal memory, which is complemented by a microSD memory card slot for additional storage space. It will also include a video player that is expected to include support for both DivX and XviD formats.

The connectivity features packed inside S8000 include 3G support, Wi-Fi, GPS capabilities with A-GPS, as well as Bluetooth 2.1 and USB. In addition, it seems that the device is only 12mm thin. One interesting fact about the phone is that there might be some 3D graphical user interface changes, as the Cube-like button suggests.

The specs are not official just yet, but, hopefully, the handset will include most of them. There are no details regarding its possible launch date, nor the price tag it might feature, though it seems that the Samsung S8000 has been listed on Euroset.ru for pre-order for a while (it has been removed in the meantime), featuring a 470 Euro price tag.
