S. T. A. L. K. E. R.: Shadow of Chernobyl, previously known as S. T. A. L. K. E. R.: Oblivion Lost, is a post-apocalyptic first-person shooter computer game by Ukrainian developer GSC Game World. In S. T. A. L. K. E. R., the player assumes the identity of a "Stalker", or illegal explorer/artifact gatherer, in "The Zone". "The Zone" is the location of an alternate reality version of the Chernobyl Power Plant after its 1986 explosion which contaminated the surrounding area with radiation, and caused strange otherworldly changes in localized fauna, flora and even the laws of physics.
Cheats: During the game, press [~] to open the console. Here type in "help" and all commands are listed. Most of the codes need an activation parameter, which mostly is 1 for ON and 0 for OFF. For example:
g_always_run 1 - activates the permanent running and
g_always_run 0 - turns that effect off again.
Gameplay Hints A pack of dogs killed a Duty guy right outside their outpost and he dropped one of those bullpup rifles that come with a built in grenade launcher but it was modified to fire 5.45 ammo which is one of the most abundant ammo types.
Question: Early in the game, you need to pass a train station. One tunnel contains so much 'junk' you die when passing it; the other path contains so much military it's impossible to pass. What's the deal here?
Answer 1: Sneak
up behind them at night....Sneak and run when they spot you ....Pay them 500$.
Answer 2: There a tunnel near the main road one with electric radiation … later on, you should have good protection against that so you can just walk through it .. (When the barman give you an armor you can go through this tunnel its good enough just keep running and when you get hit keep running and use a med pack at the end.)
You can get through the tunnel the normal way if you observe the pattern of the radiation. If you checked the corpse by the mouth of the tunnel, you would have received a note in your PDA saying to look at the pattern. Although I would still save beforehand in case you screw up.
Assault Rifles: AK SU AK 74 Okoban M4 SS1 Steyr with build-in scope (or some other bullpup rifle)
Shotguns: Sawed-off double barrel SPAS 12
Sniper rifles: Dragunov Energy Rifle
Additional weapons: Also there is a Groza, VAL & a G36, also an SVU sniper and possibly a VSS sniper.
Weapon FAQ: The only SMG is the MP5 like gun, there are 2 assault rifles that do resemble SMGs but use AR ammo so they're not. There are 2 thrown grenades, one which has a small blast and one with a larger blast and fragmentation. The grenade launcher and one of the ARs which has a built-in grenade launcher has 2 ammo types: normal and one that springs into the air before exploding. All the ARs except 2 (the 2 that look like SMGs) can be fitted with a scope/grenade launcher/silencer unless they already have one built in.
Most guns have normal and AP bullets, shot guns have shot/slug/dart and sniper rifles have normal/AP/sniper.
The "rail gun" is actually a Gauss Rifle.
It fires 2mm rounds, and uses energy from an artifact.
It is virtually noiseless, and has hardly any recoil.
How many items to carry
10 large kits, as many small kits as you can, 100 pistol rounds, as many rifle rounds as you can carry, some food(4 or so)
"Last man standing" video, check out the footage for some kickass action sequences:
This is the best RPG FPS EVER! Even on a slow PC, like mine, this game is superb. It's brilliant in all aspects, including sound, graphics, gameplay, difficulty, and anything else u haven't mentioned
