A brand new video showing off Ryse: Son of Rome has just appeared online, this time emphasizing the SmartGlass functionality that's built into the game and how you can enrich the experience by using a tablet or smartphone.

The Xbox SmartGlass tech was revealed by Microsoft way before the Xbox One as a new sort of second screen companion experience. With the next-gen console, a lot of games actually take advantage of the tech, like Dead Rising 3, which even has missions that are playable only through SmartGlass.

Ryse: Son of Rome also uses the new tech and, in order to show off just how it works, Microsoft has posted a brand new video with the impressive hack and slash game.

As you can see above, the SmartGlass app helps players keep track of their friends' activities inside the game, but it also acts as a strategy guide, with locations for hidden collectibles as well as gameplay tips and tricks.
