The development team working on Ryse: Son of Rome say that the microtransactions that have been confirmed for the multiplayer side of the game will not simply amount for a way for some players to pay to win.

Justin Robey, a producer working at Microsoft, tells Eurogamer,"Microtransactions are merely there as a convenience thing for people."

He adds, "All content is accessible without using it – the message is very simple: it’s optional and it doesn’t give you really any major benefit."

Microtransactions are designed to give those playing Ryse the option of paying for some content instead of grinding for it, which saves them time and energy in the long term.

Gamers can get access to everything the multiplayer mode of the game has to offer without using their credit card.

Ryse: Son of Rome will be out in the launch window of the Xbox One, which means November.
