Microsoft and Crytek have confirmed that Ryse: Son of Rome will receive a big price cut starting tomorrow, February 18, and a special new DLC pack on February 28, in the form of the Mars' Chosen add-on.

Ryse: Son of Rome delivered a pretty interesting hack and slash experience filled with gloriously bloody executions and all sorts of adventures both in the single-player and the multiplayer modes.

Now, Microsoft is preparing quite a few big things for the impressive Xbox One game.

First up, according to the Xbox Wire, is a temporary price cut for the digital Games on Demand version of Ryse, which lasts between February 18 and February 24. After that, various DLC packs will go on sale between February 25 and 27.

Next, one major expansion will be released on February 28, in the form of the Mars' Chosen DLC pack, which introduces a special Survival mode, as well as new maps and a fresh character skin.

Check out a description of the Survival mode and a few details about the new maps below.

"In Survival mode, there is only one objective: battle alongside a fellow gladiator against endless waves of barbarians as your health gradually drains. The only way to regain health and keep death at bay is with quick kills and brutal executions, but the longer you survive, earning more gold and experience with each wave successfully cleared, the faster your health depletes."

"In addition to Survival mode, “Mars’ Chosen” Pack features five maps. Two of the maps – Firestorm and Dockyard – are specifically created for Survival Mode, and the most popular map, Courtyard, has been optimized for Survival Mode. The other two – Pyramid and Obelisk – will transport you to the distant and exotic shores of ancient Egypt in Arena Mode. Lastly, Mars’ Chosen Pack includes a new character skin: the Legionary."

The Ryse: Son of Rome Mars' Chosen Pack will cost 8.99 USD/EUR and will be free for Season Pass owners.
